In May 2017, the University of Cyprus (Cyprus), Mylan Pharma UK Ltd (UK), and Emmace Consulting AB entered into a joint research agreement with the aim of developing a state-of-the-art scientific methodology to study upper airway deposition of inhaled medicines.

The collaboration will effectively combine the key competencies of the computational Sciences Laboratory at UCY (UCy-CompSci) and their High Performance Computing (HPC) system, the skilled aerosol characterization laboratories at Emmace Consulting AB and the respiratory product development expertise of Mylan Pharma UK Ltd.

This collaboration also marks an important milestone for the European Union COST Action MP1404 – “SimInhale” which is coordinated by UCY-CompSci.

First results are planned to be reported in the scientific literature in early 2018.
