We offer our clients anatomical throats which interact with the aerosol from the products during testing (dosing) and thus help to predict the clinical outcome. The anatomical throats are available in three different sizes that represent small, medium, and large adult throat geometries. The development of the throats was managed by a consortium of three large pharmaceutical companies (GSK, AstraZeneca, and Sanofi-Aventis).
The Mimetikos PreludiumTM Software is a dedicated modeling tool for inhalation product development. Software input data are the aerodynamic particle size distribution (APSD) data and active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) related properties, and the outcome is lung deposition and pharmacokinetic (PK) data over time. The simulated pharmacokinetic data (AUC, Cmax, Tmax) can be used to validate the physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model against clinical data and after that be used to predict the clinical outcome.
